The series follows incidents from the moment when a 999 call is made to the arrival of the frontline police and paramedics: the hard-working men and women who protect us from ourselves and each other while seeing us as we really are. They talk with honesty and wit about the ever-increasing challenges of modern Britain. This episode explores the growing challenges that the emergency services face on Britain's roads, at a time when there are more vehicles than ever before. In spite of decades of safety campaigns and technological improvements, our roads are still the place where we're most likely to be killed.
